A trail run usually consists of a day trip to a local offroading area or trail.

An expedition run consists of a two or more day trail run to remote areas. An expedition run usually requires camping, extra fuel, food and water, and etc...

with they way our FJs eat gas, a 1 day run often requires extra fuel. ;)

i'd venture to say that even a run like the mojave doesn't really equate to being an "expedition." but, that's probably because Larry just makes it so organized and easy. if i was out there with my friends, we'd be going around in circles looking for piles of rocks on the ground...then it would truly be an expedition.

Technically, an expedition is any trip taken with a group of people with a purpose (as defined by popular online dictionary). In off road terms, I feel an expedition is defined as an organized journey the expands over a great period of time and distance. Personally, it's not an expedition unless the journey itself is a challenge and take place over a period of a week or longer.

I can agree with your personal interpretation with the exception of duration.. In my mind, 3+ days on the trail warrants the title of "Expedition".

And your car is fast as hell!
Could be faster!!! Maybe that's the next project; me and Mo will start modding up my lil Honda. hehehe. Now that would be funny. It is pretty fun though; I just gotta watch out for those coppers. Or if I get in a bind; maybe I just need to hit up IMACHU to help me out. LMAO!!!! j/k

I think the issue is that the 'Adopt a Trail' section has special permissions for those working on the program.

Take a look at the trail run section. It's posted there as well, and that thread is open to everyone.
Good point! You are sooo smart... Aws an alternative, he could sign up to help maintain the trail :)
