That sucks. I work on a lot myself. What type of equipment was it, if you don't mind me asking?

Wow Tim; so sorry for your loss; that's horrible. Like Mike said; I hope insurance will cover you on that. I saw some brief coverage on the news yesterday; but didn't hear how it started.

Confirmed....Lost 2 units to Ghost Whisperer and 1 to a commercial company. 6 others sustained major but not un repairable damage. Good thing is that not my company but the production company's insurance will be on the hook. I just get to send em the invoices.

As far as how it started....I was over there this morning and it looks like a war zone. It was not accidental by any means (in my opinion). Arson investigators are combing the site and there are still piles of stuff smoldering. It will be 3 or 4 days before I can even access the damages or pick up the stuff off the lot. Word is that there were 4 explosions before the fire started and at 4:45 am on a Sunday the Back Lot was dark...Meaning no filming was going on. That's just speculation as of this point.

A couple of pictures....

This is mine

Camera Lenses

This exact thing happened in 1990 and it was set by a security guard.

Dang Tim. I'm so sorry for you. At least it's insured, and no one got hurt. Property can be replaced, but lives can't. If it's arson (again), I hope they catch and fry the bastid(s).

My sources say the fire was sparked by heating tools used by workers repairing the New York city streetscape. An incident...I believe accidents are preventable.

Someone is in lot's a trouble!

Hope everything is working out and the investigation is going quick. Hopefully they get your equipment replaced quickly also!!!
