hi everyone! i know the toyota oem wiring harness is a flat 4 pin. my boat trailer has hydraulic disc brakes and therefore has a flat 5 pin trailer plug. with these kind of brakes, if you were to try and back the trailer up a hill without the proper wire harness on your vehicle, the brakes would lock up from the pressure of the boat on the trailer tongue. these brakes operate the same as surge brakes.
so here's the big question. how do i go from a 4 pin flat to a 5 pin flat to solve this issue??? is the adapter pictured below the right way to accomodate the 5 pin flat? let me know. i just want to make sure that my trailer will be able to back up without the brakes locking up.
