Thank you all for your interest and volunteering spirit. This forum has been locked by mods so that only volunteers has access. I feel it's best to keep our discussions with a layer of privacy.
As it is apparent that we enjoy our FJs and love taking it out into the wilderness. Inevitably, we encounter land management and usage issues. Don't you hate it when a trail is closed? When you have to "go around"? The FJ community is a very tight group and we seem to really enjoy the company and comaraderie. I feel it's a really good opportunity for us to give a little back to the off road community and posterity by volunteering to keep a trail open. It's a good chance to learn what's involved in keeping a trail open and at the same time have fun in an environment that we enjoy. Our goal is to get people more aware and involved in managing our land. To be more cognizant of the impact we have when we're "out there". As this is voluntary, no one is paid or forced to do something. If you do commit yourself, you've done so with a generous spirit and I applaud you for that! For many of us this is new territory. We're learning as we go. If you have ideas, please feel free to discuss it. Anticipate critiques and be open to civil discussions.
Please feel free to discuss all issues related to trail adoption. I'll migrate some of the emails over to here. As I get the emails or correspondences with San Bernardino National Forest, I'll relate them here so you can all get the same info.
Thanks again everyone!
Tony
