How hard is it to do the scuba driver mods on the FJ? Any idea? Possible Scuba Driver install party? I'm interested in doing this mod so I don't have to worry when fjording a fjord.
This post spurs from a thread hijack over on the Grand Staircase thread.

Who is interested in doing the Scuba Driver mods? Depending on the time necessary to do the job, I think we should put together a Scuba install day / weekend so those of us interested can get the mod out of the way.

I'd like to have the mods done on my rig before Oct 1. We'll need access to tools, jacks, car stands, etc. Who would like to volunteer to host the party? Does anyone have an idea about how long it will take to mod an FJ?

Also, if anyone has a list of necessary parts, posting it up would be a huge help to those of us who have no idea what is needed.

If you guy want to rally to So. OC (SJC) on Sat. May 31st. After Cleghorn maybe about 2ish pm. We can do it at my house. Like I said, " half a keg left over from Memorial day."

If someone can buy the parts for me I will repay them. I am a little busy between now and then.

I will check this thread to check the interest.

lol. How long did it take you? Did you do the no cut?
for the life of me, i could not get pin 11 out of LA2.

but, i still wanted the "hack" to be performed inside the cabin rather than the engine bay. so, i cut the blue/yellow wire a few inches back of the male connector, soldered on another wire connected to a add-a-circuit. basically, the exact same instructions in the below thread, only cut the wire. end results were the same.

it took me an hour or so fiddling around with trying to remove the pin. if it came out easier, the whole mod shouldn't take more than 30 minutes or so.
