She has her degree in Management - Informations Systems from Cal State Long Beach. She has experience in Tech Support, and does primarily software.

She also recently passed her CBEST test, and is looking for part time work as a substitute teacher. She has her AA degree in math, and minored in finance.

There ya have it. If anyone's hiring, she has a brand new resume she is dying to hand out!

Dave your wife should check out the Long Beach School District. My wife is a director there and sits on the board for new hires for there Child Development Centers or CDC. This is kinda like after and before childcare for parents who want or need a state a run program ages 2 years 9 months thru 5th grade. A CBEST is not required for this program. She just told me that they are always looking for sub's. Subs are paid by the hour and at $16.00 and some change. NO bennys though. You do have to call in everyday to see what is available. She can call the CDC office at 562-595-5366. Have her ask and see what is avail. and see if her schooling meets the requirements for what they are looking for. As far as other openings my wife does not know due to the many different departments within the district. Good Luck.

Dave,

This is one of my customers. They are always looking for people both as employees and to find jobs for. Have her contact them and who knows, maybe, just maybe, she'll have success at landing a job in IT, which is what I believe she wants to do.

Pro-Tem Solutions, Inc.

I can always put the word in she'll be calling them if you let me know in advance. ;)

I am a director with a nationwide staffing company with offices all over Southern California.

While I am not directly involved with the hiring side of the business, I can certainly get resume's in the hands of the offices most local to any of you.

Feel free to forward your resume' and general location and I will do whatever I can.

This is not an ad for my company, we are just always looking for talented folks and there is no cost at all to candidates for our services.

Rick

Not yet Piper. She has been getting paperwork done, live scans, state stuff, all for preparation for a substitute teacher position she's trying for with several school districts. When that's done, she will be contacting Pro-Tem. Thanks for the follow up! She's working hard on getting a job....probably harder than ever before. I have my fingers crossed!

Update: Maria is now an employed substitute teacher for both the Westminster and Garden Grove Unified School Districts. Her first gig is at an elementary school on Springdale between Westminster and Bolsa (Ace, I think you know the school :D). She has 3 dates there already for next month, and the GGUSD has called her to fill in next week. If this is a regular gig 5 days a week, then we are on our way to more mods!!!! WOO HOO!!!! :D

Maria used to work for a year at Sears Watch Repair, replacing batteries and sizing watches (taking links out, putting links in), and cleaning them. She has been talking about doing that on the side as kinda like a hobby. So.....

I looked on eBay, and I won a water resistant watch case opening wrench (coming from China, may take a few weeks) and a 16 piece took lit for watches. I was the highest bidder at $0.99 each!!

Now for the moral of the story: If you all need watch adjusting ot battery replacement (we have a Radio Shack right next to my house for the battery), let me know after Christmas and we'll hook ya up! Just donate a small amount, whatever you think is reasonable (plus the actual cost of the battery of course).

She's gonna be surprised when she opens the gift, and even more surprised when she sees how little we spent on the tools!!
