It is funny you guys mention siri, That is one thing I love about the iPhone. When riding my mountain bike or fishing on weekdays, it is very user friendly to have siri read and craft text messages and read email to me without ever stopping the bike or the need to stop casting. I just leave the phone in my back pack and control from the button on the earbuds.
I tried a few options for android on 3 different phones and nothing worked like Siri. I did find a few that worked well in the car or on a desk when I could see the phone but I had no need for that.
Like I said before I am not an Apple fan boy I'm always trying the latest phones and Operating systems to see what works best for me and the apps a run.
The frustrating battery life issue with Apple last two years is much better now at least on the 6+ it runs all day and then some, no longer a wall hugger.
If anyone has a "siri" like assistant app for android that works in a backpack and can be controlled by one button I would love to know because I have a few riding buddies that have to pull over and start texting every time they get a text. I would also like to test it out.
I would rather have the phone off when riding or fishing but I can't do that on weekdays.

All you need now is a command line prompt, then you'll be doing some "real" computing.

Wow. I've never really messed around with voice control but that sounds impressive.
Did you tell siri to open the text and read it or did you have to manually select the text and have her read it. ?

i had to enable it in the settings, then highlight the text and select it.

I believe that it works with all the native applications but the third-party stuff probably has to be written specially for it

handcent on android will read your texts to you and such. i just dont use it.

If I can see the phone I just type
But if the phone is in my pocket or back back I just hit the button active Siri and say
"Send text to Dimitri "
Siri says " what would you like me to say "
And I say " dimitri , sorry I over slept so I can't meet you at cleghorn "
Then Siri reads me the text to make sure it's ok then she says "ready to send it ?" And I say yes and she obeys
Then when I hear the text alert I say " read text " and she says " you have a text message from Dimitri , your message says ...next time set an alarm clock you flake that way I don't have to spot myself on the trail "
Good fun !!
All these phones are pretty neat tools. Sort of first world problems on deciding what is best.
Sort of like Kings vs. Icons
Bud vs. coors
sig vs. Kimber

If this was an option note 4 would have nothing on iphone.
Badgas. Siri is full.of it. She's reading you text I never said. She's like all the rest of the females. A liar.
She's just trying to keep you in bed.
I would've waited. I didn't get to the exit till 930 and had time to stop at Silverwood for an hour and a half and run both. I knew it had to be a woman's fault. Digital or not. "Cherchez le femme" the universal truth.

Don't you see how important fishing and mountain biking are on workdays ?
Those 40 extra casts that I don't lose will land me at least 2 more fish. :hungry:
