That's cool. So, do you cut into the bumper and throw that sucker on there..?
Yes, the winch mount replaces the stock bumper and provides a real tough metal first point of contact for when you off-road besides letting you add a winch. They are also extremely light, much more than any other bumper, as little as 22 pounds with the Aluminum version. That also translates into savings at the pump. You have the advantages of a heavier bumper without the weight of always having an extra passenger with you, and they are modular meaning you can add or take away options from them at any time like legos. There are hi-lift mounts, light bars, brush guards, etc. that you can not use with any other bumper.

Just a FYI, we have had several people ask us if the group buy was separate on each forum as it is running simultaneously between SoCal and the Blue room. We will be COMBINING the orders in the group buy in order to make a better deal for everyone so one order here counts in the Blue room and vice versa. If there are any other questions keep letting us know and thanks so much!

Thanks, to start we just need to get any of the people who have asked us to do this to let us know so we can start a list of those who are interested. There is no commitment right now, just need a idea of who would be interested and such.

Hey everyone, we are going to continue a winch mount sale until our current stock starts to deplete. We are tweaking the prices slightly, to your favor… and those that bought during the “group buy” will be honored these same lower prices. The sale will NOT last too much longer, certainly not till spring so get a great deal on a great piece of kit and be prepared ahead of time to get unstuck when mud season arrives!

ALUMINUM winch mount. Retail $849 SALE price $769 “ Aluminum Save on weight” shipping $45

STEEL winch mount. Retail $599 SALE price $529 Shipping $65

CA sales tax 8.25%

Thanks,
Lucrum.

That swing out tire carrier he made is amazing. Well made. Some serious engineering. Would love to get my hands on his diagrams (with his permission of course).
Well, without getting into details on the forum, I would beg to differ with both statements - these swing-away racks were neither well-built, nor well engineered, IMPO.

Chris was a very nice guy, who designed the excellent Lucrum front winch mount system early in the FJ's accessory evolution; He had some great ideas when he first started working on the swing away carrier, but it seems he got way over his head with this swing out unit. It was completely different from his original prototype (which is the design folks paid for in advance), in materials, strength, and function by the time I received 5 of them (after waiting and going back and forth by phone and email for 14 months after paying in full). I have installed several of them, and every one of the units required lots of extra work to make fit, and even more work to make work.

You are welcome to check mine out in person, and see the extra work put in to making it hold up. All the other units we dealt with (trying to assist Chris in their delivery and installation - we did not sell them) have been since broken and been removed. I'd recommend you don't hold your breath waiting to get the original design plans - the units that were shipped were different, and IMO would require more reworking than it's worth - especially given the quality of products that became available while we waited endlessly for these expensive swing-away carriers to finally show up - such as those offered by LoD, Aluminess, and Exp One.
