Hey all semi new member here...I have been expolring what trails I can on the weekends , but am looking for some people to show me some good ones in the Mojave area or at least somewhat close to the AV. Somewhat close to me I guess could be within a 100 miles or so. Any and all welcome to show me the ropes so I can see what my rig can really do! I am also a marksman so anyone who likes to shoot let me know. A good Trail ride and shooting trip is very much in order. Cheers!

There are no trails in the Mojave desert, you just happen to live in the worst part of the country for off-roading. Wait a sec, I just remembered, there is one trail, its called, oh god, can't remember, something trail. It runs through the middle of the Mojave, I wish I could remembr the name of the trail. Anyways, you would'nt want to do it anyway, it's rated 11+ difficulty.
Lot's of trails out here. Check out dirtopia.com for a list. Also there are several books on Mojave desert trails and Socal in general. The Trona Pinicles are on my list to do this fall/winter.
Thanks for the link!!
gunslinger,

If you want the best that OHV has to offer come to Azusa this Saturday (October 4th). It has the best of everything from water, sand, rocks, dirt, mud, steep hill climbs and decents. You will be amazed at what your FJ can do.
I will be there at 8:00am.
If you want to go [email protected] is my email. It's the quickest way to get a hold of me.
Me and my other buddy with a Tacoma are doing the Historic Mojave Rd. on Thanksgiving Weekend Starting Saturday. 128 miles of pure off road and dirt. It takes 2-3 days so camping is a must. I know he's bringing a few guns as well...
That sounds like fun I have been reading about that trail...Where are you starting from?? If I can make it I'll bring some firepower too!!

OK, where are you talking about? AV = Apple Valley or Antelope Valley? Anyways, There is Red Rock Canyon State Park, also Jawbone, El Mirage, etc... Start here: http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/ look around or search for Red Rock Canyon, then at the bottom of the page look for this Other OHV Recreation Areas in California Here you'll find all kinds of cool stuff.

We are starting at the Colorado River. We haven't even started planning it yet but I will keep you informed. Should be a lot of fun. Here's some pics of another groups trip to the Mojave Rd. http://www.travsite.com/desert/MojaveRoad2006/index.html
