WAY back when, we did a Recovery demo up on Main Divide, and had MuddyGrrl and Cowboy4X4 give us some education and tips on Winching, use of straps, and the Hi-Lift. Below are links/videos that were taken at that point.

Also, I found a BUNCH of Hi-Lift info/videos on YouTube from the Hi-Lift company. Good viewing, and info on the differences in the lift models.

Hmmmmm. Your tow truck comment reminded me of my first offroad run at Rowher flats, where FJEssence ended up needing a tow. We MIGHT have been able to help him out, if another one of us had a hi-lift, or had thought of using it to do more than LIFT the truck. It is good to think of it as more than just a 'lift'.
