A few of us are going to experience the grunion run this coming Friday. We'll be meeting at Seal Beach Pier at 9pm. I guess the easiest place on the pier is where the bronz seal is. So far the following are interested:

It's a lot of fun and very family oriented so bring your little ones! They'll have a blast. If you're interested, just post up and I'll put you on the list we'll know to look out for you. I'll be parking down by the beach.

Depending on how the wife's doing we should be there as well...that's if she isn't in labor it will be +4 here, other wise it'll be +5. ;D

Ok...back and got the girls to bed.

Well for those of you that didn't make it out to the "****" hunt, er... I mean grunion run, yes, they are real. I was the first one to catch ONE! Finally! I guess it was sometime just before 11pm. We finally saw three of them and I was able to wrestle one down. w00t! Sad to report that was about the extent of the hauling in of grunion, or at least I think it was one or a species of fish that closely resembled the pictures previously posted. ;D Thanks for the **** Hunting Expedition...Tony!

I did want to mention a minor run-in on the way back to the FJ. While I was trying to scope out my wife and daughters with my flashlight, who left a few minutes before me, some heavy set dude, I'm not gonna say the race since I'm not racist so let's just call him Sancho, huffed his way to me and got in my face trying to start something. Sancho was either stoned or buzzed cause his eyes were bloodshot and just getting closer and closer asking what my problem was. I saw his fists clinched and ready to pounce, or pass out, so I was ready with my DeWalt flashlight on the opposite arm from him. He just kept trying to start something and kept trying to stare me down, or just trying to focus.

Apparently, Sancho was doing something he wasn't supposed to and was mad that I shined the flashlight his way, two times. That's pretty much what he said. I told him that I was just scanning for my wife and daughters, that I saw two girls near his area and thought it might have been them...I tried to stay calm, but was a bit out of breath just getting back from the **** Hunt to where he finally caught up with me, near the parking lot so it may have sounded like I was taunting him or something.
Needless to say, I guess I talked Sancho out of having to break my flashlight with his head, cause he started waddling back to Bertha to do who knows what.
