I already posted in FJCF with a small amount of interest but here I go again: looking for feed back on what owners would like to see in a rack for the FJ. I have a fabricator that is also an fj owner and he's going into production soon on a rack made just for us. He's looking for some input.....any is appreciated..Cris

What i want in a rack:

The possibly to have a complete rack, but when needed, it could be taken apart easily and support a ARB like tent.

Another,

Integrated hi-lift/shovel/axe mounts!

Something similar to the ARB but with a full mesh bottom and as Dom said above, Integrated tool mounts. I would also add a intregrated light bar/air dam set up.

Met with Baja Racks yesterday, rack is going to look great, options of high lift jack mount, tire mount,fuel/water can mounts. I'm trying to get an idead on what type of fuel cans most people use. the racks will also have tabs for lights in front and back, they come standard with an air dam and cargo net. As soon as the first one is out I will post a pic. Anyone with input is going to get a break on the first ones ;D. Thanks again. Cris
Forgot one thing, also some talk about pre-wiring for the lights!

I would definitely like to see a full rack/basket setup with built in recovery tool mounts. The cargo net is a nice idea. I would also like to see an airdam and off road light bar setup. Now to add a new suggestion, maybe have a small locking tool box integrated into the rack somewhere??? It sounds good to me. ;D

what about something that used the fram from the stock rack and is a full length basket that goes where the cross members are?

A rack that is good for off road gear BUT has room for a kayak/bike mount to be removed... i am looking into a roof rack but need a mount for my 17ft kayaks (2 of them)

Gave them my rack and there is going to be two options ont that uses the existing frame and sets down in the rack and one that mounts into the factory holes. Tried to upload the shots of the Baja Racks FJ on the beach in Ensenada. I'll try again.
