Pretty soon my FJ will be a few inches too tall to fit in my garage. I'm wondering what you all do about things on your roof racks and other external storage and attachment points.

Do you keep your Hi Lift, Shovels, Axes and other tools strapped up top? Do you leave detachable antenna? Any advice appreciated.

Mine is a lost cause... doesn't fit ANYWHERE anymore.

I have to fit into my garage. My antenna is cranked down tight and you need an additional screwdriver to remove to ground wire. I keep my shovel and axe tied down in the back of my truck. The only thing that goes on the roof are my gas tanks on a longer trip. i clean a good clean rack.

I keep the mounts on the bumper or roof rack, but keep the equipment in the garage most of the time. I pull it out if I need to have it for a run, or other event.

If I have the Hi-Lift on, I have a cable lock that I use to just keep the general miscreants away.

I leave my CB antennae on. No issues yet. It does have a quick release that I use if I go into some shorter (but not too short) parking structure.

I have a quick release for my CB antenna which I keep in the trunk. Hi-lift jack stays in the garage in a Hi-Lift cover otherwise the Hi-lift is mounted to the roof rack. i muont my shovel on my spare tire bike rack. I might get a real shovel mount next time.
