I am in the process and I have not heard anything about any interview.. I don't think the job bulletin even mentions an interview.. What were your scores/rank? Thanks!

In email correspondence from the city, did you guys fill out the Background Requirement (link in the body of the email) multiple times?


Example:

"BACKGROUND REQUIREMENT: In order for you to be certified as eligible to be hired you will need to complete and submit the Additional Information Form located at [ex. http:xxxxxx.cfm]. This form will be reviewed in accordance with City of Los Angeles Personnel Policy 1 when your name is placed on the eligible list. It is your responsibility to ensure that a completed Additional Information Form is submitted as soon as possible."

I am also scheduled for an interview. The lady said she will be sending an email with details about the interview and I still have not received it. I am freaking out a bit because I have the interview in 4 days. BigCity and DWPhopeful,have you guys received any email regarding an interview?

Just came from it...its was straightforward however, I dunno i rambled a few times...tried to improvise safety...but other then that i dont think i got it bc i didnt ask any questions like a dummy when they asked if i had any....i should have made something up...ugh...lol

I'm sure you did alright. Good luck moving forward. Was it at personnel on Temple? Were there a lot of other SPA candidates there? Did you get any details on the April class being filled up already?

Does anyone know how much advance notice you will get that you are starting the "2 week" class (i.e. how much time would I have to let my job know I need 2 weeks off)? Thanks.

I thought it went well...pretty straight forward...i got caught off guard towards the end...but all i can say is i did my best...hopefully we get in...

Did they say when you'll get your results?

No they didnt. I should have asked but i just went with the flow...since the class starts late april im assuming within the next couple of weeks or so possibly...bc medical and background has to be conducted before your officially in...but if you read through this thread from past candidates, you'll notice the trend of how the process goes...�� seems like 10-14 business days from the interview date based on what was mentioned from others in the past...ya feel me???? Lol

I got in...medical is next week...now, i just have to prepare mentally for the eval course:rofl:

I also got the call yesterday.....!!!!! So I'll be seeing you DWP April 18th! I can't believe it, its so surreal.....it almost felt like a fantastic. +

Congrats! Where is the evaluation course being held this go round?

It is common that people do not pass the medical and background evaluation. Until you do get pass those checks you are not officially invited to the evaluation class.

What does the medical exam consist of?

Just found out that I passed my medical evaluation!!!!!!!!!!!Hopefully I'll see you DWPhopeful April 18th.......

Its official like a submarine missle....lol...A1 certified like steak sauce baby! We are in there. I will definately see you there. Btw for those asking about the process; training is at SG. Ill ask when the anticipated amount of classes will be once i get settled and pass. For now just be patient bc it will come around.

When did you guys take the written test?

It's 3 classes in 2016 [including class from November 2015], 3 classes in 2017 and 2 classes in 2018.

Sorry for the delay, but YES their will be another class this year! Okay, out of 30 people 26 pass..... which was more than anticipated but the word is September for the next class. My advice for those coming up....be ready for an ass kicking and when I say ass kicking i mean clear your schedule for the class. If you've been out of school more than a year start reading anything several hours a day to prepare. If you have any other questions ask but i will not answer direct questions about the class.

How far from the class do you live? Did you commute every day? Do some guys try and find a room to rent in the area if they are far? What hours is the class each day (8-5)? I think I remember reading that the next steps for you guys would be more classroom work, is that the case?

Welp I had an 82 so fingers crossed.

I'm 86 and a buddy of mine (who is also waiting for next class) got a 90.

I just spoke with someone at the City of LA. They are down to 83 on the open list. Meaning 82 and down are getting called up next. Not sure what happened with you Comrad.

I received a confirmation email a month ago or so and a request for my transcripts shortly thereafter so who knows...
