Well As some of you know I was limping along in Anza-Borrego last weekend. I thought it was my MAF sensor since the truck was running horrible and had no throttle response. We made our way back to the dealer and it turns out that there was a spark plug wire that had vibrated off at the coil pack. The dealer had just done the 60k service and changed my spark plugs so I have a strong feeling that someone did not put my truck back together right. We were not running some hard trail, just cruising along Fish Creek Wash when it happened. The Dealer did not charge me for diagnostics or the “repair” . For those of you with a scan gauge who want to play along the error codes were PO300, PO304, PO35 MISFIRE DETECTED.

Dayumitt, If we would of plugged in the scanguage and seen the codes I could of fixed it. Believe it or not that 0300 code misfire cyl 1 was the same one I had on the wifes car 2 weeks ago and the only one I know offhand. I remember saying we could get the codes but wouldn't be able to decipher em without a computer. Well at least all is well, just stinks ya know?

No worries FunJunkie. I bought a scanguage yesterday as an early Bday present and I'll keep a copy of the codes in the FJ. I learned a good lesson though, no more wheeling alone. I usually don't worry about getting stuck brakeing down unless I am on a difficult trail but nothing gives you a sick feeling in the pit of your stomache like seeing a CE light in the middle of BFE, easy trail or not!
