Anyone know of some kits/cases for mounting a CB up by the rear-view mirror? I want to get mine out of the way of the rear seat, and up by the mirror seems like a good place that will let me see it, reach it, and still be fairly out of the way.

I remember seeing a black plastic thing created for mounting some small lights and a small access area, but I can not seem to find it now. Anyone else notice the vendor area of the Blue Room is huge now?

I saw a great one at surf n turf last year where a guy put a mounting panel inside above his headliner and had everything overhead, real easy to do. If you want, PM me and I could send ya a drawing of the basic idea. a must on this though would be a mic that you can unplug or a pocket that you could stuff the cord into.

what kind of CB are you throwing up there?
Funny story... hehe :(

In my preps for the Summit, I was redoing the wiring for my first CB, a basic Midland with PA. Part of my upgrades included a PA speaker as well. The idea for the CB was to use a DC plug/outlet, so that I could easily remove the CB if I needed to get the seats folded down. I was mounting it on the back of the console. Well, the DC plugs all have black wires, with one wire that has a white line. What I have found, is that sometimes the white trace means positive, and sometimes negative. Also, they come with a 5AMP fuse, not a 2 AMP like the CB inline fuse holder had. So, I wired it up wrong, with a fuse that was too big, and poof.... no more CB. No matter how it's wired, it blows the fuse as soon as you plug it in, even when turned off. Sweet huh? This happened late Saturday, when I was leaving for the Summit Monday morning.

Only place I could find a CB with PA was at Radio Shack, and it was big and pricey. But, it has a lot of cool features, that I've decided to just go with. I would like to put it up above so I can see and operate it without having to turn around and look down.

I believe it's this one...
