Just wondering if anyone has bought a bike rack for the stock FJ rack and where you got it. Thanks for any info.

Moe, I don't think the racks for the roof will work without taking the front wheels of the bikes. Not the best way to go for beach cruisers...more ideal for mountain bikes.

We went to big bear last weekend. I had a bike on the Spare-Me and I was pulling a jet ski at the same time.

I almost lost a finger taking my bike off the roof my bro-in-law old Landcruiser.

Yakima (lock jaw) work on the stk roof rack and you dont have to take the front tire off. I have 2 for sale if your intersted . i dont use them cause I use hitch mount on the fj, but since youre already pullin

Thanks for all your help my fellow FJ'ers! I just got a Thule "Spare-Me" for the FJ, now I just gotta find a good cheap place to get me a custom stretch cruiser. Anybody know of a place that sells custom cruisers? Thanks again.

I'm not sure about where to get a custom one, but before you buy one, make sure the frame will fit the bike carrier. Some beach cruisers (especially women's cruisers) won't fit those kind of racks or need a special attachment to make them fit.

We got our cruisers from Jack's Bikes out by us. You want something custom built?

BB, if you could ask him I'd appreciate it. I've seen some online but some of them are really cheap. I am looking for a custom but don't have to be made up from the frame...as those can be expensive. Just a stretched out cruiser, I've seen some online but they want too much for them and I can get them cheaper if I put them together myself. Thank you guys for the replies.

if you have a hitch type bike carrier look at the Dual Hitch Receiver you can tow and carry at the same time. KEEP IN MIND wieght and turning without trailer hitting bikes

Mo, try to see if you can pick up a Dyno low rider frame off Ebay- its got classic looks and you may be able to find one. or try Orange Cycles in the city of Orange. They used to hook me up with random parts when i was putting together beachcruisers.

looks like Moe did not get a roof mounted rack. I ordered a spare me also along with a couple of frame adaptors for the full suspension bikes.

Thanks for all your input guys. I actually did get the spare me and it works perfectly. We towed the bikes and a scamper out to lake perris last weekend and everything worked out great. I actually picked up a cruiser too. It's a 60's Schwinn frame with springer front suspension, front bullet headlight, white powder coated wheels with black spokes and white tires, frame is powder coated gold and black flake, 18" ape hangers, replica center filler tank with horn button and a "Phat" leather 7 spring seat...sounds kind of wierd but it's really different and one of a kind...I love it, already have received so many compliments and I've only had it 2 day. I'll have some pics up soon. Thanks again!
