Ok I read about 30 posts out of the 200 something on the blues clues room and havn't found a straight answer.
I installed it yesterday and it fit like a glove, the only thing is it does contact the rear sway bar slightly. I don't know if this is a big issue or not. even if the rear sway failed whats the worst that could happen?? I dunno, Seems OK to me but please, any opinions?

just make sure the wing plates that hold the u-bolt to the axle aren't touching the rear brake line. if they are you can place some fuel line over the brake line.

I became so frustrated with this whole thing that I never tried to fit either of the two that I recieved.

I havn't even opened the box that the final version came in.

How much clearance did you lose with it installed? I may still bolt it up one of these days.

Rick, I still have my first one too. The 2nd one didn't fit all that well either, but used the handle from my hi-lift as leverage to bend the driver's side u-bolt leg outwards. After that, the skid fit around the yoke, and cleared the e-locker with ease.

Matt...if you don't mind a painted red skid plate, you can have my first one. You'll just need to bend the welded on u-bolt.

How much clearance did you lose with it installed?.

well width wise it isnt as high as the akles because it angles down instead of curves but from the bottom of the pumpkin at most a half inch. It doesn't bother me because I have already pinched my diff drain pug in place from the rocks, better than breakin it off I guess but I will have to use a vacuume tube from the top fill hole to evacuate my fluid when it's service time. I dont want to take a chance of busting the bottom plug loose and never gettin it in again.

Nope, can't make it to the M&E...gotta miss out on those luscious biscuits w/apple butter. :-\

BTW...you can HAVE the skid, no dinero. I wouldn't feel right since I already paid and got my final product. Although, some ammo cans if you still have some would be nice.
