If you haven't gone to the OHV in Azusa you don't know what you are missing. Imagine a dry lake bed where, if you can see it you can drive it! No restrictions to where you can go (except for the limits of your vehicle). If you like sand, dirt, rocks, mud, water, steep uphills and crazy decents you'll be in heaven. You can find them all in Azusa and avoid what you don't want to do.

I will be there when the gates open at 8:00am. I have to leave for home by 11:00am. I start out from the 5 at the Culver exit. We can convoy from here and pick up those along the way.

Reply here if you can go. See ya Saturday.

Re: Azusa OHV Saturday October 4th (This Saturday)

sokkie9,

I was there last Saturday as well. Silver FJ. I left at 1:00pm.
Sunday is crazy busy. It's limited to the first 250 vehicles and they were full by 10:00am. People start lining up at 6am and wait 2 hours for the gates to open.
Saturday is low key but lots of room and you don't have to worry as much about hitting someone or running over a small child.

sokkie9,

One of these days I'll go experience the 'madness' on a Sunday. I just hate to have to be there by 6am and wait 2 hours till the gates open.

If you're up for Saturday this time let me know.

How many are going? My wife is starting on cleaning out the garage on Saturday, I'd hate to miss out on that.
I can't get anyone to come along, but I think I may go anyway.

lemmy_k,

Yeah, as tempting as cleaning the garage can be, something tells me you'd have more fun in Azusa.

I'll be there about 8am and I have to leave by 11:00am.

Re: Azusa OHV Saturday October 4th (This Saturday)

lemmy_K,

That's fine but what I don't understand is why would anyone do a 'fire road' when they can do a dry river bed? There are no trails at Azusa. It's just go anywhere you want. If you can see it you can drive to it providing your vehicle and handle it. And if you have limited time as we both do tomorrow you go nuts for two hours and it's only 15 minutes to get back to paved road to head for home.

If you haven't been to Azusa you truely don't know what you are missing.
