Just got back from Main Divide/ Indian truck trail. We went in off of ortega hwy. It was fun and my son and his jeep loved it. I have to say that is the dustiest trail I have ever been on, its like driving in cement dust. I led the way so I didn`t get buried near as bad as my son did. I made sure his black jeep wasn`t black when we got done. We could only go as far as ITT the gate was still locked to go any farther. Thats alright though cause it was getting hot and we had komakazi horse flys that were relentless if we stopped.
My son took some pretty cool pictures so I will post them up as soon as he puts them on my computer. Piper surely knows the answer to this question. Is the OHV recreation area right acrossed from Main Divide rd on Ortega Hwy Wildomar? We are thinking of checking that area out next time down there. Talk to you all later Steve.

Good to hear you had fun. Next time, just go to Wildomar instead. It's on the other side of Ortega highway and way more fun and yes, that is the OHV area that the signs were for. It's soooooooo worth it and don't listen to anybody else, just go there. You can drive through the brush and get youur trail rash but you don't have to. you can always just turn around and go another direction. there are so many interconnected trails and obstacles there... I'm going soon!

Thats a fun drive. it would be nice if they opened up Santiago peak soon. also it would be a fun trip to go from the ITT side, come out on on Ortega hwy then go west and stop off at the waterfall. I haven't been there in years but it's a short hike from the road and some fun but semi challenging climbing at the falls, and if there is water then there is a nice swimming hole at the bottom.

We should contact the ranger at Cleveland National Forest and see what the holdup is on main Divide re-opening. maybe someone just needs to adopt it and clean it up.

It would be good to find out. There was some talk on our run Sunday that someone heard it might open early, meaning in the next few days or weeks.

I had just talked to the ranger maybe 2 weeks ago and she said it would probly open in November but she said it may open a little earlier but didn1t know exactly when. Thanks Piper I knew you would know if that was wildomar me and my son almost went there. We will next time he has time.
