Hey everyone,
Was thinking of just stopping at the beach for dinner, but decided to stay the night since it was only $10. Wanted to get the FJ and trailer out of the high tide water line and got stuck. Anyone around or nearby? Any pointers? Send an IM, I'm all ears...

Any updates? I'm not sure if the clock is correct. You can try to dig out a little and put your mats in front or behind the tires. Make sure you are aired way down (15).

Holly crap dude! you need to air down your tires to like 10 psi or lower, Try using anything to get traction, I.E. floor mats jacket chunks of wood , whatever. If you are too close to the water it is going to be a beyatch digging her out but you need to do as much as you can.If you can't get a couple of guys with trucks to link together as anchors and one with a winch, Try and get a towtruck down there if you must. The beach will straight swallow your rig by morning. With the waves washing up and moving the sand and the weight of the vehicle it can be lost in hours. I hope you are safe and get it out. I'd be there in a second if I could bro. :-[

Just got off the phone with Tony. Gonna unhitch the trailer and get the FJ out then start digging and lifting the trailer, one tire at a time... looks like it'll be a fun night under the moon @ Pismo.

Well, the girls are up and eating breakfast at the moment... gonna check the sand around the tires and will try pulling the trailer out in a few mins.

Man I wish I was there to help! You missed my trip to Oceano by a month. I'm sure Tony gave you some good advice but if the trailer is still stuck and you see a park ranger or big truck roll by, it never hurts to ask for help. I haven't met a person there yet that wouldn't offer help if needed. I hope all goes well for you!

Last time I was there, I asked a ranger for help. I was told they can't help pull trucks out anymore because they were always getting sued for it.

There is a huge tow truck that pulls people out with a starting price of $300. It's usually driving up and down the area or a ranger will have the number.

Good luck and I hope everything works out.

Nice!! Glad to hear that Tony came to the rescue yet again. On a side note, I gotta get a pull-pal and winch....

Yay....free at last, free at last, free at last...

It only took about an hour or two of digging, inching forward, digging, inching backward, digging, and more digging... then someone offered to assist me with guiding and digging, guiding, digging and more digging... and then not sure how much longer for another person with a Ford F-950 or one of the higher F models to come along and say want me to pull you out? uhhh....after much thinking about it, like 1000th of a mili-sec, I accepted the offer. I don't think he even stepped on the gas, didn't sound like his engine struggled at all, must have just idled us out, but probably used more gas firing up the rig.

Well a great thanks to those that offered to come out, words of wisdom, and support...it really helped. I'm afraid to say that with all the stressing about getting unstuck we didn't remember to take any pictures, and by the time we unhitched on harder packed sand to roll around the dunes the wind picked up and we didn't want to take the girls out in the sand storm to take a picture. I did go back to the spot where we were stuck, but with the sand blowing that hard it didn't even look like we were there at all...all the divots from digging out the tires were all smoothed over in just a few minutes.

Back to driving...thanks all again... 8)
