We got 3 trucks through there unscathed. Well, pretty much unscathed. Wes decided he wanted to kiss the rocks a bit. But, if you've got the right spotter and take your time, it's not a problem and the rest of that trail is quite fun. There's one fairly steep section right at the end that will definitely get your blood moving.

Thanks Captn. So just to confirm, Sandstone canyon dead ends right? At least it looks that way on the map.

Captn said, "Sandstone canyon is great, top gets difficult."

    Cheers

Trail map has been updated to show:

    f) Pinyon Mountain road (Teal/Neon Blue, DIFFICULT/DANGEROUS) (thanks for the feedback)
    a) Sandstone Canyon (Orchid/Light Purple) (thanks for the feedback)
    7) Fonts Point/Wash - (Salmon/Flesh) scenic overlook and cool camping spot.

Is there color expert in the house?

    Cheers

I have never made it to a dead end, it becomes very narrow with tight turns followed by some large rocks. We turned around (not easy).
The canyon is short, but great both ways.

    Re: Anza Borrego Trail Inventory

Coyote Creek is north of Borrego Springs and is not on the area of the map. Also Arroyo Tapiado (magenta) can keep going north and connect w/ Arroyo Seco del Diablo (orange) via the NW-SE road. Arroyo Tapiado has some of the coolest hiking through mud caves and canyons. One of the caves goes through the canyon and dumps out on top of the ridge line to where you can see houses by the airstrip down there. Just be prepared to get dirty and bring a headlamp. I was just down there Sunday/Monday to do some spelunking. I'm new to my FJ and new to the forums and have hiked the PCT through most of Anza Borrego. Thanks for the maps!
