The 319 Veteran's Convoy is an charititable event that benefits the Ramona Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3783. Held on the third weekend of March, this event is in remembrance of the Iraq War that began on March 19, 2003. All those who have ever or do still serve our country are honored by this desert overland adventure from Ramona Family Naturals to the Borrego Springs American Legion.
The Ramona VFW maintains a Veteran's Relief Fund to assist our fellow veterans in need. As a congressional chartered charitable organization we must use any money donated to this fund strictly to assist those who have or are currently serving in the the armed forces of the United States of America. From supporting the widowed spouses of fallen or passed on comrades to helping the children of young military families with a deployed parent enjoy a warm Christmas, our Relief Fund goes a long way to help our veteran community. We also use these funds to combat veteran homelessness and support those veterans who struggle with metal heath.
All proceeds from the Pancake Breakfast prepared and served by Ramona Family Naturals are designated for this Relief Fund. Any additional funds generated by the event go into the Ramona VFW general fund to help the organization support veterans and our local community. We have several local businesses including Buggy Whip Inc, San Diego Sunshine Craft Distillery, and WOW automotive repair who have already joined our efforts with sponsorship in our raffles. The Geared 4 Fun Four Wheel Drive Club has also pledged a $100 donation to serve our veterans in need.
