    Old Mojave Road 4/14 - 4/15

    We completed Old Mojave Road this past weekend. The weather was perfect in everyway.

    15 total vehicles
    26 people
    3 dogs

    Started at AVI Casino and exited at Razor Road.

    165 miles
    10 hours or driving

    Day 1 Sites:
    Fort Piute
    Leiser Ray Mine - Lunch
    Penny Can
    Indian Wells
    Stone House
    Artist's Stone House
    Government Holes
    Watson Wash

    Day 2 Sites:
    Marl Springs
    Mailbox, Frogs and Trolls
    Aiken Mine - Lunch
    Lava Tubes
    Soda Lake Rock Pile


    Camped one night at Hole-in-the-wall

    Did you guys not do Afton Canyon? The water crossing is one of the best parts of the trail.

    I didn't want to risk it. Not everyone was lifted. The "new" owners were also weary.

    Gotcha. There is a way around the water crossing. Its a little swampy, but we had a stock Suzuki Samurai and a 4runner go through the bypass with no issues. Not many people know about that option though.
