    Joshua Tree Trail/s Run, April 14, 2018

    Introduction:
    Joshua Tree trail/s Run.
3 groups are running in different locations on April 13-15: the LAFJC group headed by Eric on Mojave Dessert (Apr. 13-15); the SoCal FJ group headed by Chris (April 14-15) on Laughlin; and the SoCal Off road buddys of the Blue Room headed by strickerca on Joshua Tree

I joined the SoCal off road buddys since it's the nearest group I can catch on on a Saturday early morning just for a day run. Besides, I know Val from the AAT Team joining the run. The rest I haven't meet yet, and my first time wheeling with them.

    Trail Run:
A total of 6 FJs (out of 7 who confirmed) showed up: strickerca, Val, Loganbeere, jamespoop, OMG a FJ, and myself.
We aired down at the trail head along Twentynine Palms and headed at Gold Crown Rd at 8:30am. We exited through Pinkham Canyon at 4:30pm. In between are the trails and mines we explored, the names of which unknown in the map we're using. But on my phone, some of my photos' gps location showed we also run Ok Mine Rd. and Pinto Basin Rd.

We got 'lost' twice reaching 2 end points where we need to turn around. Val, strickerca & OMG a FJ continued the run until evening. I have no more information as of this writing as to which trails they took. Three of us headed back home at around 5:30 pm.

    Trail Summary:

Overall, I got a total of 39 miles of off road on my odometer. I got the chance to engage in 4LO with my atrac & e-locker engaged in areas relatively difficult. I'm still hesitant to use my Crawl Control on this run. The rocks on these trails are razor sharp and the bushes are like barb wires. I got the most deep pinstripes so far on this run, and my slider and skids suffered additional bruises & scratches.

James got a flat tire, and the group had a quick actual lesson on using a hi-lift jack by Loganbeere. We also tried to speed up along Pinto Rd basin to experience a sort of 'dessert speed racing' type of wheeling, which I believe Chris group in Laughlin did most of their time.

Lots of bruises and many learning lessons, but good day out there! Soon I'll have my dash cam installed but for now...

Great write up monflores11. Hard to avoid the pinstripes on this one since you have to choose between giant rocks and thick bushes.

Nice report Ramon! Would've been nice if you could've attended all the runs this past weekend.

Where are the details of the Laughlin run you mentioned, "the SoCal FJ group headed by Chris (April 14-15) on Laughlin". We started our Mojave run in Laughlin. Too bad we did not see them.

I found the details on the Laughlin run. Disregard above. Thanks.

Thanks. I would have liked to. But I only have Saturday to spare. Three of us actually were not able to complete the second half of the run which was until evening. We left at past 5 pm.

I forgot to mention that Val prepared a delicious Philly cheese beef sandwich. Thanks Val.
