(Sorry I posted pics here. No report thread up yet)

The SoCal FJ Cruiser invasion of a staging area at Red Rock Canyon SP:

In line and ready for action. Awaiting the "GO" from our leader, spertierra. Thank you Steve for having organized yet another great event for us SoCal FJers. All your hard work is much appreciated and the trail runs and camping were enjoyed by many.

AMAESING' TT: Bright-eyed and ready to roll.

The more challenging trail run was led by Kokopeli. Thanks Brian for having taken good care of us on the exciting trails and for the good laughs at Ghost Town. It was great to be in company with AMAESING, BoBoNel, Fjamming, FJ-Piper, Mikescruiser, mtnkraut, and Munkay, on this run.

    Kokopeli:

Tailgunner Fjamming: As always, thanks Tony.

    Mikescruiser:

BoBoNel: So fun to wheel with ya again, Chris!!!

Mntkraut: Damn, I like this pic!

Munkay: Handling her machine so well! (BTW, My FJ wore the "Munkay stamp" proudly, though briefly. Yeah, I had it washed and waxed already! )

    "Burro" Schmidt tunnel and camp:

    Re: 2009/09/05-06 Redrock Canyon trip

I wasn't able to make it there early but I was there on time Saturday. Missing the coordinates, I had a to backtrack-twice. Finally found the group at the right location. Saw Piper chasing after me in the rear view. Thanks!

It was great to make some new connections. Everyone's rig's got something done to it. My next mod is a car wash. Group was divided into scenic and the harder group. Spertierra lead the scenic and Kokopeli lead the harder group. I joined the latter. We ended up doing Last Chance Canyon, Burrel Schmidt Tunnel, and Opal Mountain Trail. I tricked the group into letting me tailgun. Suckers.

    Last Chance Canyon

Found a stranded Jeep. Shovels across the front, burried driver rear tire. Doors were unlocked and nobody around. Where did the driver go? Nobody knows! Didn't check the back. Maybe there was a body... Decided to leave it alone. Never know if you'd get sued for touching it.

New trail armor from Ricochet (LCA).

Gate to Army of the Undead.

    At the Schmidt home.

    They really like kitty cats.

Exploring the tunnel. Great relief from the heat! Next time, I'm bringing a helmet and some dust masks though.

    Re: 2009/09/05-06 Redrock Canyon trip

After lunch just outside of the tunnel, we headed toward Opal Mountain. It's a scenic trail with some steep drops and off cambers. Better be on your toes or you'd be on your roof!

    Re: 2009/09/05-06 Redrock Canyon trip

Opal was fun, but short! :( Fortunately Randsburg await us . So we aired up and travelled south about 15 miles to Randsburg. It use to be a mining town, but it's now a living ghost town.

    "Hopen" for business.

Munkay and Hans relax'n in front of the general store.

    Random shots.

Alas, it's time to say goodbye! I couldn't stay the night and have to leave in the late afternoon. It was great wheeling with friends and checking out new trails!

The drive home took me through the high desert. The winds have taken the smoke from the station fire and spread them across the desert. It was hard to breath.

Finally arriving at my parent's home in Oak Hills. My little guy greeted me with open arms .

    Thanks again all!

    Re: 2009/09/05-06 Redrock Canyon trip

So far all the pictures are Awsome. I can`t wait to see the rest. I got a huge laugh at the picture that says house for sale in Randsburg for $55G and the sign right below it asking " Where the hell is Randsburg? " It just caught me funny I guess. Keep those pictures coming.
