First time wheeling the FJ, surprised what I saw...

So, now that I've had my FJ for two weeks, I figured it was time to try my hand at wheeling it. I grew up riding dirt bikes and driving baja bugs, but this is my first 4x4. Since most everything around here is closed for one reason or another, I decided to hit up Holy Jim.
Like many people have said, it's pretty much just a dirt road with tons of pot holes and washboard sections. There were some little off-shoots that I did, one of which was a nice little mud bog. Anyway, about half way back, I see a couple pretty bad ass FJs headed toward me. Turns out, the 2nd one was being towed. The driver of the first one told me the other guy had rolled his! Not sure how you could do that on that trail, lol.
I made it to the end and got a picture of these two characters

On the way out was when I went through the mud bog. It was pretty fun. Being a newb, I took it nice and slow, and made it out easily.
At the trailhead I caught up with the other two FJ guys. Here's the rolled one

Luckily no one was hurt (except the FJ) and the driver was taking it in stride and laughing about it. His wife and daughter were with him in a separate vehicle.

    Here's the other one

Pretty bad ass rig. I talked the guy with the non-rolled one quite a bit, very cool guy named Daniel. I hope to go wheeling with him some time soon.

Anyway, that was it for this outing. I'm defiantly hooked though and am looking forward to my next outing, and modding the FJ.

BTW, here's mine. First "mod" will be removing that silly bull bar, lol

Only idiots roll at Holy Jim, wow! I didnt think there was anything left out there that was possible to make you roll unless its driver error.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked to see someone had rolled over out there, lol. From what I gather, he basically went waaaay to far up a bank on one side. He admitted it was really stupid. Heck of a nice guy though, and he wasn't remotely upset about it.

its 50/50 if the cops are out there writing tickets for leaving the road, the trails next to the road are technically off limits.

I have been all the way back with my 40' flatbed to recover stolen or wrecked cars many times.

there is a 4x4 park off Ortega hwy... more legal and more 3 wheel action..

Are the little off-shoots that go like 20 feet off the main road and join back up in 100 ft or so illegal?

Where is the off road park off Ortega, or what is it called?
