    Pop up tent/trailer

I'm in the market for a pop up, I love tent camping but wife.....prefers a pop up now that we have a toddler

So I came across a friends neighbor that has a 2001 Starcraft, she claims to have stored it 90% of its life and used less then 10 times. Friend said it is in super new condition, pix show the justice. Ill go see it Sunday, what should I look for?

Seller said it has a fridge, stove, awning, and cover for the trailer, outdoor shower hook up and I'm thinking AC was standard? She is asking $4000, I'm thinking offering $3000 and working to hopefully $3500. Does that seem fair if all is working?

I might go Saturday to look at it, if I strike a tentative deal is there anyone that would be willing to seal it w an inspection? I have a basic idea of what to look for but would love having someone w a better idea. Incase it is located in S. Gate area

This is a pre delivery inspection for new trailers, but you can adapt it to the used ones too

    http://www.toyhauleradventures.com/w...THA_PDI_v1.pdf

And a simpler version in this article.

Aso, if by AC you mean air-conditioner, i would say there is none, other than the screen windows. Usually the ac unit is on the roof, and theres only a vent on that roof.

    Re: Pop up tent/trailer

Here is a link that is specific to campers/tent trailers that has some great info.
I just bought a 2002 Coleman tent trailer a few weeks ago and so far we love it (we are headed to Yosemite for 6 days next week).

My best advice would be to have the seller have the trailer closed up when you go see it and inspect the roof seams for any potential leaks and open up the front storage box and check for leaks in there. Make them go through the whole process of setting it up in front of you that way you can make sure the lift mechanism works, the beds pull out smoothly, and everything unfolds correctly. We spent over an hour with the people we bought ours from and learned a lot.

    Re: Pop up tent/trailer

Here is my Coleman. They were asking $5000 and I offered and got it for $4000.
I looked at several others before I bought it and $3000 to $3500 sounds fair for what you are describing above. Mine has no AC (the one you are thinking of buying does not have it either like [email protected]@n pointed out) but it has a slideout which gives you extra room inside.

Went to look at it, over all in great shape. Only flaw was the canopy or cover that was stitched to the frame was undoing. She wanted $4500 which is BS because she told my co worker $3500. She went down to $4000, I said our budget is $3200. She went to $3700 and held, what about looking into newer from a dealer?

We are staying just outside the park at Yosemite Lakes.
Do you work/live in the area?

That's too bad but it sounds very familiar.

I started out with $2000 in mind not really sure of what I was looking for.
I looked at two that I found on Craigslist and then decided I would go look at new and used ones at a dealer.
After seeing the prices there I went back to looking on Craigslist but increased my budget.
I looked at two more, made offers and both times the person sold it to someone that offered him full price.
The one I bought was after looking at about ten trailers between Craigslist and the dealer.

    Good Luck Joey
(but I thought looking was half the fun)
