Hi, Im John.
I bought my 2007 FJ at DCH Toyota of Simi Valley December 2010. Beautiful and low mileage for a great price so it really didn't matter that the dealership was about an hour 15 drive from home. The sale went very well except for the final paperwork part which required a 3 hour wait since they were backed up and short staffed because of the holidays...that was the only good part.
Some issues came up immediately mechanic-wise after i bought the FJ (my FJ was Toyota CERTIFIED used vehicle so it shouldn't have had the issues it did) and after ridiculous amounts of pursuit on my part they finally agreed to pay to have the issues fixed by another Toyota dealership as driving continuously back up an hour 15 to Simi was out of the question. DCH himmed and hawwed ...whined and cried over it and told me because I'd bought the FJ at such a good price they didn't really wanna deal with any issues.
Also after nearly 3 months I started to wonder where my new DMV tags where...guess what..... they screwed up on the paperwork and hadn't bothered to resubmit corrected paperwork to DMV (DMV said they hadn't heard anything from the dealership for over 2 months! ). When I called Toyota's DMV department THEY HAD LOST MY ENTIRE FILE!!!!! The person in the Toyota DMV office said she'd look for the file and get back to me ......she never did. I called and left several messages over the period of a month and she never called me back. So I called her manager at DCH ....also never got back to me. I then call and asked for her manager's supervisor...finally some results. It basically took me 7 months to get my registration tags from DCH Toyota.
What started as a good experience totally tanked ....learned a lot .....but I'd never go back to DCH
Hi, Im John.
Sucks about your problems at DCH, and I'm sure the warning will be useful to someone.
.... now... lets see the FJ!
2007 Titanium 4x4 AT
Class 3000 is dead... viva Class 10.
Hi John. Hi Hans. I'm Scott. (you guys are brutal to newbs, lol!)
In all seriousness, the DCH chain of dealerships blows! Had my share of shady practices heaped upon me by DCH Toyota of Torrance.
Hidden Content '07 FJ--VooDoo Bloo. Shiny lugnuts and rubber floormats. and Bungee cords. Lots of 'em... Shmoos taste good! What would Scooby Do?
DCH Toyota cancelled/Blacklisted Ben's warranty when he just had a 3" lift and a snorkel on his FJ with only 13,000 miles on it. The reasoning if I remember correctly was "severe offroad use". There wasnt a scratch on it. Just lots of dirt.
I dislike them almost as much as 1000 oaks toyota.
