Switching the transfer case while moving???

As the title says. I'm curious and correct me if im a douche. But why would you want to switch on the fly? Someone in the other forums is having an issue with switching from 4w High to 2wd. Maybe you guys saw this already. But I'm curious to why would you want to switch on the fly. If you're going maybe 20+ mph it may have an advantage to getting somewhere or completing a track faster right?(but it's a new stock 2013 TT FJC), and anything less it wouldn't be worth the gear grinds and be better to stop? correcto mundo?

As far as I know: the rubicon is the only one that can change on the fly.

I switch on the fly with a MT all the time.No gear grind. It is usually from 4hi to 2 hi,but it will go both ways.

It's in the manual. Under 55mph from 2 to 4hi and back is fine. Auto trans

Any number of reasons, especially traveling in a group. Annoying as hell when people stop while the group goes ahead.

Yeah this is a 5AT. from 4hi to 2hi. What are the benifits though if any? Or why would you do it? I'm dumbfounded on to why. I mean would just rather come to a complete stop right?

I will have to re-read my manual than. I didn't see it. I thought it mentioned to not go faster than 55mph. lol but I usually just skim through the pile of books.

And if your with a group offroading. I guess it would depend on the trail. But if your expecting the trail to be something -other- than easy breezy beautiful cover girl. Wouldn't you already be in 4hi?

Look on your visor for 4x4 instructions. You can go way faster than 55 in 4hi

Example.... Your with 10 rigs on a fire road. Everyone is in 2wd. Someone in front says sand wash ahead..boom ur ready in 4hi and no loss in time or momentum and those who like fish tailing can have fun without losing momentum from ur switch as well
